Happy Halloween

Hello my frightful friend! This week was shorter than usual, but we made sure that we didn’t let the holiday season stop us from working hard on our robots for next week’s competition. As a normal family would, we spent our Halloween together in our robotics room, making sure everything was ready to practice our driving skills. So from Team 8787,we wish everyone a  Happy Halloween, and we hope you all have a fun and safe night.

Week of October 22nd-26th

Get your model faces ready, it’s picture day! This week we made sure to get everyone’s picture taken for the website and the notebook. For the rest of the week we worked hard on trying to keep up with our schedule so we are to compete in our first competition this year at Mountain View High School.

This week we took a break on working towards competition to help set up the largest Girl Power event at The University of Texas at El Paso. This year was a little tricky for us to host the event due to our school being under construction, but we found a way to make it happen. We took time out of our busy schedules to help empower young woman into to joining the STEM programs and by giving them an insight to all the courses that make up the STEM pathway. This year we had over 700 girls attend the event, but sadly we had to turn down many other girls to meet the capacity of the location. Our goal for next year is to find a bigger venue to make sure nobody is left out. We thank all the girls who attended for making this year one of the best and most fun Girl Powered event.
